It’s been a while since I have posted. As I sit here and type, I am acutely aware of my un-centered state. This is due to the content of this post.
As many of you are already aware Devan Shah, Founder; International Tea Importers, Chado Tea, has passed.
I am compelled to compose a few words about the influence this man had in my education and growth within our industry.
He was one of the pioneers who, through their dedication, and passion, brought many of us to a better understanding of the leaf.
He was there when I began over 10 years ago.
Although our interactions were few, there was never a year in my attending World Tea Expo that I was not greeted by his warm smile and invitation to check out the new products.
He was always willing to spend the time to answer any questions I had.
In observation, I also noticed in the many posts on social media, his dedication to the many companies he supplied and created, and his enthusiastic participation in tea events and festivals, both large and small.
He encouraged many of the tea bloggers when many did not.
His passing has come as a shock to those in my small tea world and to many around the globe.
His passing adds just another tremor to the ground in which the tea seeds are planted and upon the ground that I have chosen to walk.
To his family & friends I send condolences.
World Tea Expo 2016 will not be the same without him.
We have again, lost one of the greats, and in his honor, I raise a cup.
Thank you Mr. Shah for all you have given to so many.

It looks like someone inspiring and it is always sad to hear that such people just passed away.
