Thanks Jackie and Lahikmajoe for your comments.
I just received a new tea, one I have desired for a while. Grown in Kurseong, North, rolling hills, surrounded by gentle air, where the temperature is less harsh, enveloped by misty swirling clouds.
A Chinese Jat (genus) the saplings lay in bamboo covered beds protected from the harsh summer sun.
This tea owes its flavor partly to the type of bush and partly to the climate.
A rounded Muscatel character with a flowery aroma and golden colour.
A great morning cup which starts on a light note and ends full bodied and satisfying.
What Am I Drinking? Margaret’s Hope, FTGFOP 1 CH, Autumn Flush 2011, Darjeeling
A while back, in September of this year, I read an excerpt from The Devotea’s upcoming tea book “Where there’s life, there’s Margaret’s Hope”. I became intrigued by the story of how the tea was named (I’m susceptible to beautiful sad stories). I was not sure if I had tried this tea in the past and put it on my list. I recently got the opportunity to brew this lovely tea from Lochan Tea Limited which was also mentioned by The Devotea in a post back in August. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The flavor was rich and smooth and a fitting tribute to the young Margaret. An autumnal flush with a delicate flavor. Harvested in the rainy season the tones are less spicy with full body and darker colour.
I have also tried several other teas from Lochan Tea Limited which I have enjoyed immensely. Castelton Moonlight, 2nd flush, (again a name I am drawn to) has also become one of my favorites. That’s what I was drinking last week.
Thanks for your support.
